Sound Composition / Environmental Sound Art with Graphics- 2023
This sound work explores humanity’s growing disconnection from nature amidst environmental crises such as melting glaciers, dying forests, and rising temperatures. The composition juxtaposes two “universes”: the natural world, represented by sounds of climate change—squeaks, shrinks, drips, and drops—and human-made digital spaces, represented by low-fidelity chat and video call sounds.
Through this layering, the piece illustrates how people insulate themselves in artificial environments—creating urban “wholesome spaces” and digital bubbles—while losing contact with wilderness and its ecological rules. The work emphasizes that humanity often only becomes aware of the natural environment when it asserts itself violently, revealing the tension between technological comfort and ecological reality.
