iLUV (Initiating Love Unconditionally + Vocally)

Hailing from the rich cultural heritage of Trinidad and Tobago and currently making waves in the vibrant music scene of London, UK, iLUV is a dynamic artist whose journey through music is as diverse and captivating as the melodies he creates.

His musical odyssey began in the corridors of Petit Valley Primary School under the guidance of esteemed mentors, Regis Jordan, and Elsa McConny. At the tender age of 5, iLUV, then known as Matthew, found himself gently nudged into the realm of harmonies by his mother and grandfather, a legendary tenor-pan developer and maestro of the 1940s. This early exposure ignited a passion within him, leading him to cultivate his distinctive vocal tones and masterful command of string instruments, quickly becoming a prominent figure in the school's choir.

As he entered his teens, iLUV continued his educational journey, attending Diego Martin Junior Secondary before transitioning to Tranquility Secondary Government Secondary School. Throughout these formative years, he not only excelled academically but also immersed himself in the rich tapestry of Trinidad and Tobago's musical heritage, honing his craft and laying the foundation for his future endeavors in the world of music.

Delving deeper into his passion, iLUV explored the enchanting rhythms of the quatro, following in the footsteps of renowned musicians such as Roy Jackson, Jose Hernandez, and Robert Munroe. Aligning himself with popular Parang Bands like the Lara Brothers and Voces Jovenes, iLUV became a guiding force, leading his young and talented peers through various musical endeavors, showcasing his versatility with instruments ranging from the mandolin to the bass and everything in between.

In his twenties, iLUV's musical journey led him to the United States, where he graced stages in iconic venues like Africa House Downtown Brooklyn alongside luminaries such as Francois, Dane Gulston, Singing Franceen, Scrunter, Crazy, and Cro Cro. It was during this time that he expanded his musical repertoire, teaching himself the intricacies of the guitar under the guidance of mentors like Rickie Jagdeo and Enrico Camio, further broadening his appreciation for diverse musical styles.

Having released two singles ("You Don't Know it" and "Let it Go") in Germany under Faluma Records in 2019, iLUV momentarily redirected his path to pursue academic endeavors beyond his master level achievements while quietly honing his craft, preparing for the release of his debut album. Now, armed with a fusion of melodies inspired by his life experiences, iLUV is poised to make his mark on the global music stage with the release of his eagerly anticipated debut album on April 30, 2023.

With his unique ear for music and soul-stirring tones, iLUV, known as Simbadian, residing in the UK, promises to deliver an auditory experience that resonates deeply with audiences, setting the stage for a promising future filled with boundless creativity and unwavering passion.
